Guwahati Half Marathon
More than 5000 people…6 kilometres…one marathon…
Techniche ’10 presents the Guwahati Half Marathon on August 29, 2010.
Aakash Chopra and Mark Toorock are the ambassador of the Guwahati Half Marathon
The marathon is aimed at uniting the people of Guwahati, young and old to run for the cause, i. e the cause to save the environment. It is time for us to take those running shoes off the racks and put them to use. Let us now unite to send a message to the world that we care, and so we dare to run the distance and bridge the gap between us and our environment.
Last year, the people of Guwahati showed to the nation their capacity to exhibit courage by participating in the Green Run on August 30. They showed that they are aware of the atrocities done to Mother Nature and that they are ready to join hands in the common cause to alleviate Her of Her burdens. This year, we need to rejuvenate that spirit, rekindle that candle of hope and prove to everyone, including ourselves, that we won’t go silently into the night, we will not perish without a fight, we will live on to see the Earth beautiful again one day.
We would like to make a special call to the youth of the North East to reflect the enthusiasm of all ages. This year, the Guwahati Half Marathon stands by the motto of “Youth for Environment” and welcomes the youth of North East India to be a part.
